CELEBRATING MY SUCCESS

Celebrating Success:

A Brilliant year for me to begin with the positive attitude that makes me feel alive in every day life and makes me happier and more resilient, i remember the saying  "Dream big and Aim high", this helps me be creative in my teaching- learning process with the opportunity given to me about being innovative through my design- methods of teaching, may it be about skills, knowledge, concept, attitudes or action, the result of which is visible from SA I to SA II, which is evidently from the academic part of it. The major challenge here is  dealing with teenage behavior, which can be altered through positive reinforcement on their attitude and motivation.

Variety of spices added in my life, i begun with my teaching career from Advocate to Teacher, change was inevitable, the day i decided to come into teaching profession. I felt it was easy, a cup of tea for me, to just teach my subject and then back home. i was amaze to see the depth; the knowledge like a sea. Now, i feel i know only a drop of water and to reach the goals with nerves of steel and muscles of iron, very challenging and  that's the spirit  hidden in teaching profession.

Now, i understand school is not a place where you get to learn Einstein's theory of relativity. It is also a place of where you can think of going  beyond the classroom and even connect to the world with sustainability in thought and globally connect yourself , having international mindedness. This makes my students to think about themselves,Society, Region, National and International and make them  a global citizen.
The best part of me joining Akash , i found my new freedom to explore and enhance my teaching learning  practices.  i anticipated the teaching learning very different from the regular  syllabus, it was not easy . later, i learnt to swim and  gradually understood it, preparing my students for National Talent School Exams NTSE.  this opened a new horizon of nation building process . It was not easy for me because my students come from varied background from Oakridge International, i got students from Maharshi Vidya Mandir, Delhi public school, KV, Hyderabad Public School, kenndy global school, Vikas, Vigan, Sangamitra,DAV etc.,well i learned a lot out of my experience and am still learning.

Live your dreams king size , there is a saying and  i am doing so .....

Devi.

SOUVENIR

CELEBRATING--- THE SPIRIT OF SPICMACAY COIMBATORE-TOUR
Silver Oaks had sent a team of four students, Shivnath and Prajjwal from Grade XI and Shreya and Vaishnavi Pal Reddy, from Grade VIII along with a faculty member Ms. K. Bhudevi to DPS Coimbatore for Intensive Workshop conducted by SPICMACAY. SPICMACAY  is a movement and not an organization meant for entertainment.
Coimbatore is known as the Manchester of South India has a wonderful Ancient history. It is one of the ancient city that even existed before 2nd century A.D. Coimbatore was ruled by Cholas, Irulas Tribes, Nayaks, Mysore, East India Company. It is a city with a wonderul ambience.
The core purpose was to let every child experience the inspiration and mysticism embodied in Indian culture and Heritage. A five day intensive experience was provided for school students in the fields of Yoga & Meditation, Classical Music and Dance, Paper Mache, Pottery, Painting workshop, Calligraphy etc.
The students and the teacher had been waking up at 3.45 A.M. and slept late at night around 10.00 P.M.
My students got a wonderful opportunity of having a close interaction with Artists who are legends in their own field. These brilliant artists are awardees of Padmashri and Padma Bhushan.
During the Intensive we got to see two Movies, 'The Great Dictator' by Charlie Chaplin, and the second one was 'Koormaavatar' by Girish Karnavalli.
We had also visited few beautiful places like the Heritage Temple Isha Yoga Foundation, Perur Temple which  is  2000 years old with great Art and Architecture; and the Kovaikurtalam waterfalls.
This was also a medium of communication as my students met other students from across 17 schools in  India who had come from parts of the country's North, South, East, and West , summing till about 300 hundred participants.
This helped the students understand the need to conserve and promote awareness about the rich cultural tapestry of India, the need to appreciate deep values, and they had also a need for an inspired perspective.
I am personally thankful to Silver Oaks for giving me this wonderful opportunity and I feel lucky to be among few to see and be a part of this workshop, personally. Me along with my team gained experience from old culture merged with modern influences in a charming and peaceful town that tugs my heart strings. I feel this was a memorable experience that left me sweet memories to cherish.
